For an unconventional and unique performance in collaboration with Draaimolen Festival, Transcending Bodies is looking for 12 contemporary dancers. They seek highly skilled dancers who are preferably settled in acrobatics and have a strong theatrical appearance.

Transcending Bodies is a young dance company founded by Hannah Zwaans. Her work manifests itself around fundamental questions about what it means to be human. She provides a platform where hidden but fundamental relationships unfold in all humanitarian dimensions. Her artistic practice characterizes itself by her aim to make movement as deeply ingrained as breathing. She investigates the dialectical process of the powerful body in relation to itself and to others. Vulnerability, authenticity, cross-disciplinary collaborations, intensive partnerwork and expressive body language are characteristics of her work.

Draaimolen is a dynamic event organization from Tilburg who create avant-garde symbioses of music, visual arts and nature. They challenge existing structures within the cultural field and are well known for their clever and preternatural perceptions while creating special experiences. By giving room to experiment for both young talents and established artists, they transform spaces into out of the ordinary experiences.
This year they developed a special concept of a one time only 10-day Draaimolen Festival. The first two evenings are reserved for a special live performance wherein live vocals, live instrumental performance, kinetic installations, visual art and movement will melt together and create a new narrative.

Transcending Bodies is looking for dancers with a strong contemporary technique and eccentric performing qualities. In the process, individual flourishing is considered important in order to enable the dancers to develop themselves authentically and be in sync with their inner experiences. Curiosity, a strong work ethic and openness are necessary conditions for one to apply.
Dancers must be able to interact with multiple art forms, emerging from a physical foundation. Cooperation and willingness to work with extraordinary stage designs is needed. Flexibility in the process is needed (rehearsing inside/ outside, changing circumstances and last minute modifications).
Acrobatic skills are preferable in order to use the stage optimally. Dancers should not be afraid of heights, nor of partner acrobatics.
Where: Tilburg, The Netherlands.
When: 22 rehearsals starting the 9th of August, till the 7th of September. Shows will be the 8th and 9th of September. Hotel rooms are included for the two performing nights. Camping is possible on site.
Fee: Dancers will be fairly paid for one full month of rehearsals, paired with two shows. More shows are presumably added in the future.
Audition: Will be held in Tilburg on the 24th of June (Max 4 hours).

Applicants will be notified by the 17th of June and will possibly be invited to the live audition the 24th of June.
